Where classical Pilates meets modern strength
Meet Courtney Makuch
Courtney is a classically trained Pilates instructor and founder of Coura Pilates. She is comprehensively certified through the Equinox Pilates Teacher Training Program, developed by Carrie Macy Samper, a third generation classical pilates teacher trained under Romana Kryzanowska, whose teachings trace directly back to Joseph Pilates.
With over five years of teaching experience at Equinox, Forma Pilates, Lifetime South Lamar, and boutique studios throughout Austin.
Her teaching blends the precision of classical Pilates with intelligent athletic training, creating sessions that build deep strength, stability, and longevity in the body.
A former competitive tennis and basketball player, Courtney understands firsthand the physical and mental challenges of injury and recovery. Following two ACL and meniscus reconstruction surgeries, Pilates became the foundation of her rehabilitation; helping her rebuild strength, restore confidence in movement, and return to an active life with greater resilience than before.
This experience shaped her belief that movement should not only help us recover, but allow us to thrive. At Coura Pilates, Courtney's approach is intentional, supportive, and deeply personalized. Sessions emphasize precise, low-impact movement, mindful control, and proper alignment to strengthen the body from the inside out.
Whether working with athletes, busy professionals, prenatal and postpartum clients, or those simply seeking to move and feel better, Courtney's goal is to help each client build a stronger foundation, move with confidence, and create lasting health for life.
Our Mission
At Coura Pilates, our mission is to help people build strong, resilient bodies through thoughtful, personalized Pilates practice. By combining classical principles with modern athletic movement, we create sessions that support strength, confidence, and longevity in the body.
